The lawmaker for Assin Main Kennedy Agyapong has pleaded with fix the country planners to strike out their particular calls for salaries of Associates of Parliament(MPs) to be cut.
According to him, Members associated with Parliament(MPs) are already living an extremely poor life because many of them depend solely on their wages which are peanuts.
He says MPs with their meagre salaries look after a number of families in their constituencies and therefore slashing their wages will mean other families may also have to suffer the brunts.
“MPs are suffering. Instantly they take their salaries, individuals are in their offices to take the cash. We should look at that aspect of their particular demands because it’s quite sensitive. The most worrying you are the fact that the moment you are hired Minister, you will wake up to satisfy people queued infront of your property. ”
He blamed these types of beggars for the widespread data corruption by public officials since their salaries are not sufficient to take care of all the people who rely on them.
