Transmit Journalist Umaru Sanda Amadu has called on Chief executive Akufo-Addo to address the country for the current crippling power black outs across the country, stressing that the justifications by power generator, the particular Ghana Grid Company(GRIDCo) are usually sickening. He added that this idea that power outages referred to as “dumsor” should not be called dumsor is absurd. “The #Dumsor situation isn’t funny any longer. We need a proper national deal with by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on the concern so we can plan existence. The excuses by GRIDCO are sickening and the concept that we shouldn’t call it simply by its name is ridiculous, ” he stated. For most weeks now, the country continues to be experiencing power outages, specially in Accra and Kumasi. GRIDCo has blamed the black outs on maintenance works plus upgrades to its facilities. But many have found the details untenable, saying that it’s not credible that such works should necessarily occasion outages across the nation. Energy Minister, Dr Matt Opoku Prempeh has said which the country is not experiencing dumsor as it was during the period of ex-President John Mahama, explaining that whereas dumsor comes with a schedule, what is happening are usually outages due to technical plus maintenance works. Meanwhile Ghanaians continue to lament the power black outs, and are calling on the government to operate swiftly to address the issue.
