Ghana Police Service, when will you release a statement on the savagery perpetuated by hoodlums in Radio Ada this week?

Whenever are you going to tell us about your own investigations? Journalists who were used hostage and beaten in order to pulp in the middle of live development just because they have been explaining information on the lease agreement which the government and some Chiefs associated with Ada had handed out the particular Ada Songhor Lagoon in order to Electrochem- a company owned simply by Macdan.

Why would anybody be unhappy that information on an agreement to hand out the particular Songhor lagoon would be freely discussed on radio? Exactly what does anyone have to hide?

The authorities in Ada and Tema have either turned the blind eye or used part in several human legal rights abuses that have happened within Ada for over a year today all over this deal. Those who have spoken up about this offer have been arrested arbitrarily within the dead of the night, several have been maimed and army and Police have been utilized to intimidate and put fear within the people of Ada for years.

The Ghanaian media, that i am ashamed to admit to become a part of, have suspiciously flipped a blind eye as to what is happening in Ada. IGP Dampare, you have done properly since you took over as IG. However your true test would not become measured by how quickly and decisively you cope with poor and vulnerable people that commit crime. We would assess you by how you cope with the rich, mighty and people who appear untouchable.

Radio stations Ada, one of Ghana’s earliest community radio stations, which has for a long time been a trusted voice for that people Ada, has unfortunately become the latest victims of numerous abuses that continue to occur in Ada and people- having lost trust in almost all institutions including the Police- are usually helpless. As a journalist, We can’t even say certainly, that the NMC, where a problem has been lodged, would reprimand anyone for this.

IGP Dampare, please do not fail individuals of Ada.
