Social media site Twitter has been refurbished in Nigeria after it had been banned in 2021.
Nigeria banned Twitter in 06, days after the platform removed a remark from Buhari’s account, provoking outcry more than freedom of expression within Africa’s most populous nation.
In January 2022, Nigeria lifted its ban right after Twitter agreed to pay a good “applicable tax” and set up a legal entity within the nation sometime in the first one fourth of 2022.
A declaration from the government said “The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) directs me to inform the general public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the particular lifting of the suspension associated with Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12am this evening, 13th January 2022, ” Abdullahi said.
“The authorization was given following a memo created to the President by the Honourable Minister of Communications plus Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim.
