Common Secretary of the governing Brand new Patriotic Party (NPP), Mark Boadu has called the stone cold bluff of some party followers who have threatened to stop the particular 2021 Annual Delegates Meeting slated for Kumasi within the coming weekend. During a 03 on the party’s Ashanti Local Secretariat last week, a group of celebration faithful calling themselves ‘Asanteman Nkosuo NPP Mpuntuo’ cautioned national executives to consider one more venue for the Annual Delegates Conference or face their own wrath if they insist on keeping the 3-day event within Kumasi. The membership from the crew consists of identifiable groups such as motor riders, Adum Small Traders, NAFOP, and the Mamprusi Youth Association from all of the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.

The protesters mentioned they have not benefitted everything for their efforts at using the party to power since 2016; they accused the government plus party executives of sidelining their members for sessions and various recruitments to the public sector, leaving these to the mercy of food cravings and hardships. “We have got gained nothing from the NPP since we toiled for your party to assume the reins of power in 2016. We are currently at the NPP party office, and we possess a place here. We are right here to ask Chairman Wontumi, who is the Regional Chief, that has there not already been any benefit for the party’s identifiable groups since 2016”, Chairman of the group, Issah Ababio told journalists on the day from the protest. But reacting towards the concerns raised by the team in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM monitored simply by Mynewsgh. com on Mon, party scribe John Boadu described their threats because “empty, laughable and anti-party”. “Who are they to say they would stop the whole celebration from holding our meeting in Kumasi; they just have no power to do so and i believe if they are real party followers, they would not be behaving in this way. It’s funny that they believe they can stop the celebration from going on with the conference”, he said. John Boadu challenged the members from the crew not to expect any specific considerations for job positionings but rather take advantage of the numerous possibilities offered by the government to apply for careers like any other Ghanaian would certainly do. He said the federal government cannot provide jobs for everyone at a go, but it has furnished adequate opportunities for the Ghanaian youth to get employed in to the various sectors including protection, health, education and entrepreneurship. The General Secretary also mentioned adequate opportunities would be supplied for youth entrepreneurship within the proposed “YouStart” initiative within the 2022 Budget.
