2022 Budget: Kyei-Mensah Bonsu need to stop the rabble-rousing and become wise – Dela Coffie

Outspoken Youth Activist and previous member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dela Coffie has lashed out in the Majority Leader for their failure to ensure that the 2022 budget was accepted within Parliament. According to him, the particular failure of the Majority to make sure he performs his obligation and the subsequent name-calling from the Speaker of Parliament can be irritating, to say the least. Dela Coffie believes that there is the need to create consensus rather than engage in rubble rousing and name-calling. Their post shared on Fb read “Some of us are becoming irritated by your reactive/populist national politics, and attacks on the Rt. Honourable Speaker. Essentially, a person failed to deliver when it issues most as leader associated with Government business and Vast majority leader in parliament. Right now, it should be obvious to you that the near hung parliament as with the 8th is always should retain cool heads, by-bipartisan momemtum and compromise on issues of national interest. But rather of reaching out to the group to build consensus on the President’s economic policy for the 12 months 2022, you went out of the way and engaged in rabble-rousing and name calling. The wise leader with difficulties on his plate grasps the particular nettle early and has got the pain out of the way. You unsuccessful woefully as a leader at this juncture and you should be doing some more self examination and not aggravating the situation”. On Friday, November twenty six, 2021, the Majority in Parliament staged a walkout through Parliament leaving the Group behind to decide on the authorization of the 2022 budget introduced to Parliament. The Group with 137 Members accessible during the process voted against the spending budget which they tagged as getting “killer taxes” that will provide untold hardship to the individuals of Ghana.
