UG LLB graduates don’t require anything from ‘moribund’ Makola to practice law – Kwaku Azar

Activist for the expansion of lawful education in Ghana, Teacher Stephen Kwaku Asare identified affectionately as Kwaku Azar is questioning the basis from the professional law course provided by the Ghana School associated with Law at Makola, Accra, to law graduates from the University of Ghana considering the fact that the University trains their own students in both theory plus practice of the law. Mister Azar, who has been suggesting for the abolition of the Ghana School of Law in Makola, wondered why learners properly trained by the College of Ghana are remaining unable to practice as attorneys because of the existence of the Ghana School of Law, that the students must attend plus graduate to be able to practice. “I may be biased but In my opinion the university of Ghana when it says that the goals of its LLB Programme are usually: “To provide the best schooling, training and knowledge sources for the preparation of the lawful minds and professionals associated with tomorrow; andTo develop gifted individuals with fully developed theoretical and practical knowledge of legislation as well as excellent leadership features to provide quality service for all, in all spheres of practice and in all circumstances. ”One has to wonder why college students who get this best schooling, including practical knowledge, are usually left stranded with an LLB, which is not considered adequate enough to consider a licensing examination given by the Lords of the moribund GLC, ” he mentioned. Kwaku Azar is confident that the strictures within the lawful education sector that limit access to qualified LLB slots amount to a waste from the country’s youth, warning the fact that future of the country is usually bleak if the trend proceeds. “A country that waste products its youth is a nation that has no future.
