Juaben Assembly members came to kneel and beg on their own contract – Traditional Council

The Juaben Traditional Council has responded to what they describe as a malicious try to bring the name of the Omanhene (Chief) into disrepute. There were photos circulating on social media with copies suggesting that the Chief ordered some Assemblymen to kneel before him because they refused to vote for the President’s nominee for the Municipal Chief Executive position. Setting the records straight in a statement from the Juaben Traditional Council, it was unveiled that the presiding member for the Assembly as well as two other Assembly members brought to the attention of the principle a rift that existed between the president’s nominee plus some Assembly members and called on the Juaben Omanhene to resolve the issues. The Omanhene then summoned all Assembly members to hear their area of the story and that of the President’s nominee. Both parties made their grievances known to the Juaben Omanhene who afterwards asked both sides to forgive one another and work together as a team for the betterment of the Municipality and the country. Immediately the Assembly members left the Chief’s palace after their differences with the MCE nominee had been resolved, the Assembly members were said to have organized a press conference to spell out certain dilemmas against the President’s nominee. The Juaben Omanhene, therefore , summoned them to his palace to ascertain the reason behind a press conference after they had resolved their differences. Upon arrival at the palace, the Assembly members in consultation with Gyasehene knelt on the knees to beg the Juaben Omanhene. The Traditional Council said the Omanhene never ordered any Assemblymember to kneel because they did not vote for the President’s nominee and therefore such reports ought to be treated with the contempt it deserves.
