Actress Lydia Forson has asked the people of Ghana to guide the Police in its efforts to prove that there are laws in Ghana and no one is above them. The Ghana Police Service this week has arrested three celebrities for different offences. Shatta Wale and three of his team members have already been remanded in prison custody for publishing false news and causing fear and panic. Funny Face alternatively was arrested for threatening to kill his baby mama and himself and it has since been asked to go for mental evaluation at the Police Hospital after which he can answer to the law. Medikal has additionally been arrested for brandishing a gun in a video he shared on social media and is set to manage the court Friday after he was denied police inquiry bail. Reacting to these, Lydia Forson said it’s a good sign and proof that the new police administration is working difficult to prove that there are laws and no one is above them. She said in a tweet that “Clearly @GhPoliceService is working difficult at proving that none is above the law; their effort mustn’t be over looked but rather should be commended. May I suggest that the surest way for people to BELIEVE this really is to hold law makers equally accountable to their actions”. Adding that “I also hope that just as we can’t use hashtags to free people, others aren’t remanded in custody only centered on sentiments, but by law. I don’t like what you said/did doesn’t mean a law was broken. Lastly, If we truly want things to be better, we all must play our part”. Source: MyNewsGh. com/ 2021
