IGP storms Tamale to visit wounded Policemen

Inspector-General of Police George Akuffo Dampare is currently in the North regional capital Tamale to see three Policemen who are within critical condition after they had been involved in an accident. The three had been part of a team associated with five who were involved in an incident on the Walawale-Bolgatanga Highway. Three Policemen who are members from the Anti-Robbery unit of the law enforcement service were involved in an incident when they were attending to the distress call on the Walewale-Bolgatnaga Highway. The accident had taken the life of two officials who were said to have passed away on the spot. See Police Declaration Here A statement authorized by ACP Kwesi Ofori, Acting Director-General in charge of Pr said “the members from the Police Management Board also have visited the families of the 2 officers who passed on in order to commiserate with them”. This said plans we underway to airlift the wounded officers to Accra for even more treatment. The Walewale-Bolgatanga road has become notorious for freeway robberies, prompting the police in order to intensify patrols on that will stretch.
