Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of Youth and Sports activities, Mustapha Ussif, says their earlier pronouncement that the $25million the ministry is searching for from the government and business Ghana is for the Dark Stars, was miscommunicated, but instead for all male and women national teams. But talking with Citi TV on Wednesday, April 27, 2021, this individual clarified that the $25m, which usually government will provide $10m plus $15m raised from business Ghana, is for the activities of most male and female nationwide teams. “The budget we have done is not only for Black Stars. It is for those our national team activities from now till 2022. We have 8 world cup qualifiers, the particular CHAN team will be playing qualifiers, the women’s team as well, and we have to participate at the AFCON, and when we qualify for the world cup, we will take part there as well, ” he said. “We have U-17, U-20, U-23 plus the senior national teams and same for the women and each one of these teams have tournaments to play. “We have done estimates for all our national teams and we think we need about $25 mil to cater for all their expenditures. ”The Black Stars have already qualified for the AFCON 2021 tournament and will begin the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers within June this year.
