Leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has said that 2020 election petition will be the final time the NDC should go to the Supreme Court more than Presidential election results. The particular NDC’s flagbearer after the 2020 election petitioned the Great Court of Ghana in order to declare the election null and void because in order to him, no candidate gained the 2020 election. He or she petitioned the Supreme Courtroom to order a rerun of the election. However , their case against the Electoral Fee and the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was quashed as baseless by the Supreme Court. Talking on Accra-based Ahotor FM, Ofosu Ampofo indicated this was the first and final time the NDC can challenge results of elections within the Supreme Court. “Going straight into 2024, the first assurance I would like to give the people of Ghana is that we are not going to great court any longer. We will negotiate matters at the polling train station. That one is a strategy we are going to use. So we are going to drive for a lot of reforms. ”He mentioned when the party went to get a retreat in Ho, they will set up a committee which will work with the party’s MPs and other stakeholders to ensure that they will push for electoral reconstructs in Ghana. “Never once again must we allow supply wielding people to stage hen house de tat at polling stations and collation facilities and change the will from the people. We will not take a seat for that to happen again therefore I’m sending a clear transmission that once bitten, two times shy. Our approach, mindset and philosophy going into 2024 election will be different from the technique that was adopted in the 2020 elections. ”Ofosu Ampofo used opportunity to assure the party’s teeming supporters that they have eliminated back to the drawing plank to right wrongs plus come out with clear cut techniques for the next election.
