The former manager of the Hohoe branch Star Oil business took a huge risk with all the company’s money with wagering which has landed him within prison.
It obviously finished in tears for Yussif Abubakar and his family when he was jailed for fifteen years imprisonment after wasting a company’s funds upon sports betting.
The mother of Yussif could not control her holes after the Hohoe high courtroom last wednesday handed the 15 year jail expression to her son for robbing.
Yussif Abubakar, who was an ex worker of the Hohoe department of Star Oil Firm was sentenced for robbing GHc139, 118 belonging to their company.
His mother needed to be assisted at the courtroom whenever his sentenced was introduced. She was very damaged by the development as the girl needed physical support to get her way out from the court room with wailing.
Abubakar who had been charged with stealing regarding two years ago had pleaded not guilty all along till the judgement of the full demo was delivered.
Mr Yaw Opoku Acheampong who was the particular trial judge in the 30-minute sentence he read away said he would have sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment but the convict, throughout the demo showed remorse.
Abubakar revealed in the courtroom that he used money for sports betting yet did not win any of the wagers to enable him to repay the cash he took from the industry’s coffers.
Presenting the case within the courtroom, the prosecution group disclosed Abubakar was utilized by the company on 17, this year as a washing bay supervisor and a pump attendant prior to rising through the ranks to turn into a branch manager for the business on March 3, 2018.
