The overall Secretary for the opposition NDC Asiedu Nketia has pointed out that a smart Alban Bagbin will not relinquish his amount 3 position in Ghana just to contest in the NDC Primaries which he is not really certain of winning. There exists a growing perception that Alban Sumana Bagbin will be contesting for the flagbearership in the NDC when the party opens candidate selection after he failed to safe the slot prior to the 2020 elections which the NDC ost. But speaking in an job interview with Accra-based Citi TELEVISION, Asiedu Nketia indicated that this Alban Bagbin he understands will not leave his amount 3 position in the country in order to contest for an election which usually winning is not certain. “You know his ranking when it comes to importance in the country. Number a few, if you were number three or more would you resign that place of number 3 to visit and contest presidential primaries which you can lose. Then next what happens? You go home? When he’s there as a loudspeaker, he will be there being a speaker for four many years. Why would anybody step down two years into the position being a speaker to contest regarding Presidential primaries that there is high chance of losing to ensure that after the primaries he will move and stay home for two yrs. Or staying on like a Speaker till the next selection. This is my view and am believe he thinks properly and when he deciding, he can think around this”On regardless of whether Alban Bagbin will use their position to undermine the particular NDC’s candidate, Asiedu Nketia indicated that Alban Bagbin may have the opportunity to serve as Loudspeaker for another four years once the NDC takes over power within 2024 and will never challenge the NDC’s candidate.
