The fogeys Teachers Association(PTA) of Achimota School says it facilitates the position of the headmistress from the school to reject acknowledging Rastafarian students in the college. The Headmistress of the Achimota School has insisted it will not admit two Rastafarian students who were posted towards the school. According to the school, the rules and regulations which were revised within August 2020 abhor college students keeping their hair and therefore they can not go against it. This has not really gone down well with some parts of the public who believe that the college needs to look beyond the head of hair and look at the academics from the students. But reacting towards the issue which has generated discussions both online and offline, the particular PTA of the school states it’s in support of the proceed by the school indicating that acknowledging Rastafarians in the school for their religion will fuel indiscipline among students. “This older rule has prevented needless attention and time throwing away with ‘non-school’ hairdos.
