Common Secretary for the opposition Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC) Manley Asiedu Nketia has pointed out that the introduction of the e-levy has seen massive level of resistance and opposition because govt has not been accountable to the individuals. He notes that the present government is unable to account towards the people of Ghana just how resources given to them with the country were used to operate the affairs of the nation. To him, this does not really give room for the nation to agree to give them additional monies. “You are losing the money. What we have prior to the e-levy is being wasted this is why we say we will not agree to the e-levy. In order to convince us, you should go for said that the money for the condition which is being mismanaged you will use some means to get the money for the country which the excess waste will be reduce so that some of the money is going to be left for development. For this you won’t talk about this. What you are saying is that the portion of money given to you, we ought to continue and it will be mismanaged like it has always been whiles askin us to accept the e-levy because for that one you will be accountable to the great people of Ghana. You believe we clean our face from down to up? ”He indicated that the people associated with Ghana have noticed the particular extravagant lifestyle of the Leader and the wastage in the program even before e-levy and have didn’t risk in granting a chance to this government to copy the country dry. “Saying you will account for the e-levy is certainly either here nor generally there. You are just making individuals angry. A government that will can’t account for the President’s travels is saying they want e-levy.
