The joint effort between employees of the Ghana Police Services and residents of Wassa Appiahkrom and Ayiem neighborhoods has led to the police arrest of seven armed criminals. According to the Ghana Police Company, these armed robbers had been engaged in robberies on the seventh and 8th January, 2022 at Wassa Akropong plus Mpohor in the Western Area. Suspects Godwin Boah, Philemon Essien, Emmanuel Yaley, Prophet Sumaila, Evans Amarh, Meat Aboah, Augustine Nana Abaka, Kwabena Acquah and Godfred Akwah are currently in law enforcement custody. Suspect Philemon Essien who sustained gun chance wound on his hand plus suspect Emmanuel Yaley that sustained non-gun-shot related accidents during the arrest were delivered to Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital exactly where they were admitted for therapy, and are under Police safeguard. The suspects were believed to attack their victims with the array of weapons including regionally manufactured pistol, cutlasses plus a dagger and bolted in the crime scenes with numerous items including a motorcycle, mobile phones and a cash quantity of Ghc 2, 700.
