
The faculty of Education Teachers Organization of Ghana(CETAG) has announced an indefinite strike more than Government’s failure to honor agreements on their conditions associated with service. The strike actions – the withdrawal training – will begin tomorrow The month of january 3, 2022. In a pr release dated January 5, 2022 and signed by the association’s National Secretary and Nationwide President, the strike motion is as a result of Government’s failing to implement the 2017- 2020 Conditions of Support even after CETAG signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Government for the steady operationalisation of the Conditions associated with Service. ” The everlasting industrial action is grounded on the following: Failure with the Government to implement the particular 2017-2020 Conditions of Assistance as agreed.
CETAG plus Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) on September 24, 2021 after reaching agreements upon 2017-2020 Conditions of Program (CoS) for members from the Association.
The said MoU states the effective day of implementation is The month of january 1, 2021, while transaction of associated arrears associated with nine(9) months was to become paid in October, Nov and December 2021, ” the press release explained.
CETAG has urged its users in all the 46 colleges associated with education to endeavour in order to comply with the decision to hit – withdraw teaching. Federal government is yet to respond towards the matter of the strike. At the same time Colleges of Education possess reopened for academic function.
