The particular Ghana Police Service (GPS) has warned religious organizations to be measured in their prophetic utterances during the 31st Dec services. According to him, commanders of the various religious organizations should ensure that their prophecies do not injure the right more and the public interest. Inside a statement issued on Dec 27, the Ghana Law enforcement Service“We therefore wish to extreme care all Ghanaians, especially spiritual groups and leaders to become measured in their utterances, specifically how they communicate prophecies, which might inure the right of others as well as the public interest”. The declaration further said “We wish to caution that under Ghanaian law, it is a crime for any person to publish or replicate a statement, rumour or even report which is likely to result in fear and alarm towards the public or to disturb the general public peace, where that person does not have any evidence to prove the particular statement, rumour or document is true”. Adding that will “It is also a criminal offense for a person, by means of digital communications service, to knowingly send a communication which is false or misleading plus likely to prejudice the performance of life-saving or to risk the safety of any kind of person”.
