Workers who were engaged in the Nation Contractors Corps have taken over social media marketing platform Twitter and are agitating over what they describe like a “scam” by the governing Brand new Patriotic Party (NPP). Based on the personnel, prior to the 2020 polls, they were promised permanent work and were made to choose interviews and write skills tests but nothing has come from the process they were made to proceed through. The personnel say in addition to the fact that they have not received the jobs, they have not really been paid for the last 8 weeks hence making life very hard for them. They have expressed the particular hardship they have had to experience just because the government has failed in order to fulfil its part of the discount. Government engaged the services of younger graduates who had been unemployed for a long time due to the ban on community sector employment. The Graduates numbering 100, 000 had been deployed to various Government firms and were expected to remain employed for three years after which they are going to leave with employable abilities from the training they get. Personnel under the initiative had been paid GHC 700 month-to-month; a stipend that could postpone for three to four weeks but personnel had to withstand.
