The most recent Auditor-General’s Report has exposed that the Bawku West Area Assembly spent GHC 39, 000 on food and additional grocery items for its personnel during Christmas. The Assembly has been said to have paid a provide known as Jezfarms Enterprise an overall total of 23, 150 GHC as payment for meals for Christmas and Brand new Year festivities for 2020. Also, 16, 400 GHC was paid to another provider known as Anelytie Enterprise because payment for the supply of glucose, rice and oil just for Muslims. Apart from these costs breaching Section 30 from the PFMR 2016 (Act 921), the Auditor General pointed out that it could negatively influence projects budgeted for. They were contained in the Auditor General’s Document on the Management and Utilisation of the District Assemblies Typical Fund (Dacf) and Other Lawful Funds for the Year Finished 31 December 2020.
