Previous Ghana’s Ambassador to S. africa Dr George Ayisi Boateng insists that Vice Chief executive Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ought to be the flagbearer of the New Devoted Party (NPP) to business lead the party in 2024. The contest of who else to lead NPP right after President Akufo-Addo to competition the 2024 general polls will be one of the toughest inner elections in the party because the inception of the fourth republic. Some party supporters, professionals and leaders have announced their support to people that are willing to contest during the party’s presidential elections with areas insisting that selecting Bawumia is the only way of taking Akan tag from the NPP. Speaking on Kumasi-based Opemso Fm Kwantannaso show managed by George Opoku Mensah and monitored by MyNewsGh. com, the NPP older emphasized that the Vice Chief executive Dr Mahamudu Bawumia top the party as flagbearer will clear the belief that NPP is Ashanti or Akyem party. “When former President John Agyekum Kufuor was leaving workplace, some of us decided to bring their Vice Aliu Mahama yet our efforts proved futile” Dr Ayisi Boateng remembered. According to Dr Ayisi Boateng, “I will be the happiest guy on earth if NPP selects Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead NPP to make Ghanaians and the globe know that NPP is not to get only Akans or Akyem people”. “Dr Bawumia performed a major role in the party’s victory in 2016 plus 2020 general elections and has performed massively since Vice President.
