Ghanaian Medical student in Cuba dies due to alleged carelessness

The 23-year-old brilliant Ghanaian healthcare student has died within Cuba in a case associated with alleged negligence.

Erasmus Klutse died on May seven, 2021, after he has been reportedly refused treatment whenever he fell ill plus was rushed to the school’s campus.

He subsequently would have to be sent outside the campus however the ambulance had no gas and there was no financing to help the situation.

In an job interview with Class FM, Eugene Oko Richman, a Ghanaian student leader in Cuba lamented neglect by the Ghanaian Embassy and their sponsors, GNPC.

“Just this at the end of last week, we lost a student associated with ours, a brother, Erasmus Klutse and one of the explanations why we lost him had been because of the poor health treatment that will we’ve been receiving, ” he said.

Eugene carried on that, “And the issue that we get is that the mission here made it very easy for the Cubans not to make us important when it comes to our health because if that they had sent an ambulance in order to him, we feel that their death could have been prevented”.

Certainly one of Erasmus’ friend and friend student in a tweet exposed that:

“The body associated with Erasmus after his dying at 7: 00 was was lying in the college until 3: 00 evening when it was later communicated to the mortuary I guess.

“They robbed me of my buddy and church leader because of incompetence… Erasmus who passed away at the age of 23 had a diploma in Biomedical engineering within LEG but wanted to go after his passion”.

Speaking within the fate of Ghanaian college students in Cuba, Emmanuel Dwomfour-Poku, the organising secretary plus PRO of NUGS (National Union of Ghanaian Students), stated that: “We arranged our expectations high simply to fall short as we were sabotaged by our own government. ”

He further added, “None of us accounted for the water disadvantages, the rotten food becoming served to not only all of us but also our friends associated with wiggling kind, and insufficient petrol to facilitate transport which would later cause losing our brother. ”

“We have been impeccable, despite the insufficient assistance from our embassy throughout the pandemic, despite the lack of stipends which leave us starving plus hungry”.
