Outspoken TV personality Afia Schwarzenegger has threatened to “beat up” President Nana Akufo-Addo if he succumbs in order to pressure to pay “greedy” clients of defunct gold car dealership company, MenzGold.
The company’s operating license was mainly for gold trading plus export, but it extended the operations to investments. This particular operation was regarded as unauthorised and the government through the Financial institution of Ghana issued number of warnings to clients towards investing with the firm.
The particular firm was subsequently turn off in September 2018 with the Ghana Securities and Trade Commission (SEC) causing money of clients to get secured up.
Reacting to phone calls on the government to obtain their monies, Afia Schwar said she will not sit down by for the President to pay for clients with taxpayers hard-earned monies.
“The government arrived through the Bank of Ghana to warn Ghanaians to not do business with Nana Mensah Appiah. MenzGod customers came out plus told the government to keep silent for them to work, ” the lady said in an interview upon Kingdom FM.
“If the particular President takes our cash to pay these greedy individuals, we will catch him plus beat him up, ” she threatened.
“It is going to be blows if the President attempts to pay these greedy individuals with our hard-earned monies. MenzGold issue is a delicate concern and if you want to challenge the federal government on it, you will be sorry. ”
