Believers in Ghana won’t make it to the Agyapa offer – Kofi Bentil response Gabby

Attorney and Senior Vice Chief executive of policy think container, Imani Africa, Kofi Bentil has reacted to Gabby to Otchere-Darko’s statement askin Ghanaians to do their little bit to help in the development of the nation even as the Akufo-Addo management works to fix it in the midst of the particular COVID-19 pandemic. In the writeup, Mr Otchere-Darko stressed the fact that call for the country to be set is in reference to its sixty four years of existence as a nation-state and not just a negative verdict to the Presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo. He expressed in perception in Ghana and his confidence that Ghana will get much better while rallying others to trust in Ghana and its capability to surmount the current challenges. Yet Mr Bentil hit back again, saying that no one who thinks in Ghana would look for to commit the country towards the now infamous Agyapa Precious metal Royalties deal. “No person who believes in Ghana will require our Gold Royalties, ignore them and vest these questions company owned by faceless persons and base this in a tax haven exactly where Ghanaians or our authorities cannot reach them or even control them. That will be the rape of the nation!!! Who that? ” Mr Bentil lashed out. It is ambiguous whether the comment is focused directly at Mr Otchere-Darko, who supported the deal plus whose law firm was active in the negotiation of it, or Mister Ken Ofori-Atta, the Financial Minister who conceived plus supervised the deal. The questionable Agyapa Royalties deal wanted to collateralize Ghana’s precious metal royalties for some $ five hundred million for development. Yet anti-corruption campaigners flagged the offer as not transparent rather than in the interest of the nation. After allegations of supposed corruption from various sectors, Government suspended the execution of the deal.
