Well-known social media feminist, Amelia Amedela Amemate, known as Dela Sikadzi, seems to have incurred the difficulty of some Muslims upon social media after she rebuked the separation of women and men during Islamic funeral events. In a post on Fb, Ms Amemate wondered precisely why men and women could not mixup throughout social ceremonies such as funerals, prayer sessions or some other communal activities, stressing that even though she knew people might justify it using their belief (Islam), they out to realistically and practically reason away the issue before such justifications. “These are pictures through the funeral of the little child who got brutally killed because we refuse to provide our children the proper education (read socialization) they need (story another day). I see that women plus men are separated. And I feel fully aware of how a number of you are going to justify this making use of religion. But instead of doing that will, how about putting critical considering and practical/logical reasoning initial? What exactly makes it so awful and impossible for women plus men to mix while burying their kid, praying or even doing any communal exercise? ” She questioned. Within reaction, some Muslims had taken her on for straying off into areas that do not really concern her.
