My family and am are mourning the loss of our own beloved grandmother, Sarah Ogwel Onyango Obama, affectionately recognized to many as “Mama Sarah” but known to us because “Dani” or Granny. Created in the first quarter from the last century, in Nyanza Province, on the shores associated with Lake Victoria, she got no formal schooling, and the ways of her group, she was married away to a much older guy while only a teen.
She’d spend the rest of her lifestyle in the tiny village associated with Alego, in a small home constructed of mud-and thatch packet and without electricity or interior plumbing. There she elevated eight children, tended with her goats and chickens, increased an assortment of crops, and got what the family didn’t value to sell at the local open-air market.
